If you are interested in hosting a book signing, reading, author meet-and-greet, or other book-related event at The Burrow Bookstore, please review the information below and complete the request form.
Submitting a request does not guarantee approval. Events are reviewed based on scheduling availability, store fit, space, staffing, and customer interest.
Author events are currently offered at no charge.
What Authors Can Expect From Us
The Burrow Bookstore will provide a welcoming space for your event during an approved date and time.
We may help promote approved events through our social media, website, email list, in-store signage, or other available channels.
We will provide reasonable space for your signing, reading, or meet-and-greet based on the type of event and store layout.
We will do our best to support the event during normal store operations, but we cannot guarantee attendance, sales, media coverage, or specific promotional reach.
What We Expect From Authors
Authors are expected to actively promote their event through their own social media, website, newsletter, personal contacts, and local networks.
Authors should tag The Burrow Bookstore when posting about the event whenever possible.
Authors should arrive at least 15 minutes before the event for setup.
Authors are responsible for providing their own books unless another arrangement has been made in advance.
Authors are responsible for bringing any specialty displays, signage, decorations, table coverings, or promotional materials they would like to use.
All materials, displays, and personal items must be removed at the end of the event unless prior arrangements have been made.
Events should remain welcoming, respectful, and appropriate for the intended audience.
The Burrow Bookstore reserves the right to decline, cancel, reschedule, or end an event at our discretion.
Professional Conduct & Representation
Authors are expected to conduct themselves in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner throughout their event.
While we encourage authors to promote their events, solicitation of customers in a manner that may be perceived as aggressive, disruptive, or unwelcome is not permitted. This includes approaching individuals outside the store, pressuring passersby to enter the store, interrupting neighboring businesses, or engaging in behavior that could make community members uncomfortable.
As a guest of The Burrow Bookstore, authors are considered representatives of the event and, by extension, the bookstore during their visit. We ask that all interactions with customers, neighboring businesses, and members of the public reflect positively on the bookstore and our community.
The Burrow Bookstore reserves the right to end an event, ask an author to leave, decline future events, or terminate a consignment relationship if conduct is deemed disruptive, inappropriate, unprofessional, or harmful to the bookstore's reputation or customer experience.
Book Sales
If your book is already carried by The Burrow Bookstore on consignment, sales may be handled through the store under the existing consignment agreement.
If your book is not currently carried by the store, book sales must be discussed and approved before the event.
The Burrow Bookstore does not purchase books upfront for author events.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us as soon as possible.
Events may also be rescheduled or canceled due to weather, emergencies, staffing issues, or circumstances outside of our control.
Photography & Promotion
The Burrow Bookstore may take photographs or short videos during events for use on our website, social media accounts, email newsletters, and other promotional materials.
Authors are welcome and encouraged to take and share their own photos and videos from their event. However, we ask that authors and their representatives respect the privacy of our guests. Photos or videos that clearly identify minor children should not be published without the permission of the child's parent or legal guardian.
By participating in an event, authors acknowledge that reasonable event photography and videography may occur and grant The Burrow Bookstore permission to use images and recordings from the event for promotional purposes.
